Where are you located?
Our rural oasis is located at 1242 Acton Road, Cambridge - approximately 15 minutes from the Hobart CBD. It can be a little tricky finding the Pilates J driveway.
When approaching the Pilates J driveway from Lauderdale or 7 Mile Beach - we are the first driveway on the left after Cilwen Road, before the power pole. When approaching the
Pilates J driveway from Cambridge - slow down when you pass Lady Gowrie Childcare sign on the left, and look out for the third power pole on the right hand side.
Keep an eye out for the stonewall entrance.
Do you do Reformer classes?
We do not offer group Reformer classes. We do use Reformers as part of our Studio Equipment Sessions. Our personalised Small Group Studio Equipment Sessions have a maximum of 3 movers or can be taken as a private. If you would like to focus on Reformer repertoire then our instructors would be happy to include this in your programming.
I have an injury or condition - is Pilates J right for me?
At Pilates J our experienced and Diploma qualified instructors welcome movers with a variety of injuries and conditions. Please be in touch so we can arrange the right session for you. We welcome working alongside other health professionals.
Do I need Pilates experience to attend Pilates J?
Absolutely not! Come as you are. We welcome all genders, ages and abilities.
How are "Floor Classes" different to mat Pilates classes?
The term "Floor Classes" encapsulates not only traditional mat Pilates but other ways of moving including balancing and standing movements. These classes also utilise a variety of Pilates props in a variety of creative ways.
Is there parking available?
There is plenty of free, secure, off street parking.
What do I wear?
Please wear clothes you are comfortable to move in whatever they may be. For hygiene, we require you to wear clean socks. Many clients choose to wear "grip" socks for extra safety. They can be purchased at the studio.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made within 24 hours of your booking will incur a late cancellation session payment. We know life happens. When you are unable to make your booked session please contact us. We do offer where possible a make up session when a place becomes available in the schedule sometime into the future.
